Eddie's Blogging! http://eddiebush.com/parkit2.cfm Wed, 18 Aug 2010 02:10:00 GMT http://bandzoogle.com Mother Nature Has her Say (but not her way) at EdisonLearning & Provost Academy Back to School Bash! http://eddiebush.com/parkit2.cfm?feature=1602986&postid=400731 I was recently invited to perform at the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=138710569495939&amp;index=1" target="_new">Provost Academy Back to School Bash in Columbia, S.C.&nbsp; This past weekend (8/14), I headed north to Riverfront Park with The Mayhem and The 3 Dudes to spend the day with students, friends, family, and the EdisonLearning and Provost Academy teams.&nbsp; The EdisonLearning/Provost Academy Back to School Bash was, for me, a truly rewarding albeit wet experience! Meeting several students of Provost was tops on my list of highlights; it's always great to have conversations with these kids because the talking points always center around my favorite subject...music! I don't recall ever seeing a school quite as committed to its students as <a href="http://www.sc.provostacademy.com/" target="_new">Provost Academy. Those folks understand wholeheartedly the challenges that families face in this day and age, and they are trying to bring real improvements to the scholastic experience while affording flexibility to students and families struggling with the typical school schedule. Our concert was as fun as usual!&nbsp; My young contemporaries, The 3 Dudes, opened the show and rocked their hearts out with some well-chosen covers and great original tunes. The clouds got a bit darker around the time of our set, so we started to jam a few minutes early. My bandmates, Steve Clark and Ben Bennett (aka The Mayhem!), and I had really kicked into high gear by the time the downpour started...what a drag! However, all's well that ends well and it rocked! I'd like to extend a big thank you to Rob, Duwayna, Arlene, Dr. J, and all my friends at at Edisonlearning and Provost Academy for inviting me to be such a big part of their Back to School Bash. Mother Nature had no chance of keeping us down and I can't wait til next year to do it again...and with students by my side!
